Alata Ltd was founded in 2007 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and has been growing and developing along with the country’s dentistry market. Dentistry services are known to have been present on the territory of Kyrgyzstan since 9th century , but first clinics were not opened until Kyrgyz people joined Russia in 1915, and first dental schools were opened in the secod half of the 20th century, while the country was a part of the Soviet Union, where healthcare was for the most part state-provided. Only after disintegration of the USSR in 1991 first private clinics opened their doors to patients and transition to market economy began. All through the 90s and until present day the number of practicing dentists, both state and private, has been rapidly growing.
Development of dentistry in transition to market economy has resulted in patients who are better informed and therefore more demanding as to the quality of service and of materials and instruments used in treatment.
